This website is for the purpose of seeking truth, not to explain doctrines of the Chruch.
The Bible is the foundation of truth; this is the only assumption in seeking truth. All truths must line up with the Scriptures. Scripture must line up with scripture, if it doesn't then we are interpreting them incorrectly and we must go back to the drawing board. For example, we don't even assume that God is God; we set out to search out the truth of "Is there a God?" In studying the scriptures and through the revelation of the Holy Spirit as you seek the truth, the reality of God sinks deeper into you and becomes an anchor of life within you.
If you are around the Church for very long you will notice that there are two types of seekers; seekers of spiritual head knowledge and seekers of spiritual heart knowledge. Jesus said that you will be able to recognize them by their fruits. Look around you; are your spiritual leaders humble in heart and full of mercy and love for others? Or, are do they judge others? They may be nice and may look like the Lord's sheep on the outside, but on the inside they are wolves. They live by rules and doctrines, but lack compassion and love for those that they disagree with.
Think about that for a moment and now look in a mirror; which one are you? Do you have a tendency to walk in love, laying down your rights, or do you feel you are the defender of the faith? Man was not made for faith, faith was made for and given to man. Religious people sometimes get this and many other things backwards.
A seeker of spiritual heart knowledge wants to live their faith, not force everyone else to live it. They love and accept others for where they are at, believing that God is able to keep them through the Lord Jesus. They speak truth into other peoples' lives, not to convince them of anything, but to give words for the Holy Spirit to use as He deals with them. Look in the mirror one more time, do you love and accept others, or are you just nice?

Assumptions are not truth; they are only the beginning of one's search for the truth. To seek truth you must take your assumptions and beliefs and try to find scripture that disagrees with it. If it is truth, you will find an agreement with all scripture, if scripture doesn't seem to agree with your assumptions or beliefs, then seek through prayer why. In doing this you will grow stronger in your beliefs because you will become more convince of the truth. For example, we do not make the assumption that only God can heal or forgive sins. Men have received the gift of healing and Jesus, James, and John have said that man has the ability to forgive sins. Assumptions make God and the Lord Jesus unknowable, truth makes them known.
Nothing is sacred, anything can be challenged and everything must be challenged. Only by challenging your beliefs will you dig deeper into the truths that they want to share with you. Everything has a deeper truth and each truth leads to other truths in the kingdom of God.
To find truth, we must find the principles, concepts, and precepts of God that make up the kingdom of God. For example, man was not made for tithing, tithing was made for and given to man. Man was made for love.
Truth can only be truly known by living it. This is what really sets the one who has spiritual head knowledge from the one who has spiritual heart knowledge; both believe, but only one lives it with their whole heart and mind, measuring themselves by themselves, not others. As we find truth, we must live that truth, making it a part of who we are.
Most important, we must never be afraid of letting go of a belief, even if we have had it all of our lives. If the belief is true it will return stronger, if it is just a stepping stone then we take that step, pressing ever forward towards the fullness of the kingdom of God.
Love is the foundation of discovery. Without love, all the truth in the world is irrelevant for love is the basis of truth.
But love can only be known by knowing God, your Father, and Jesus Christ, whom He sent. This is the purpose of true knowledge
and life.
